Low-carbon lifestyle covers many aspect of our life like transportation,traveling, home-heating, and so on. In order to promote a low-carbon life, someplans must be carried out as follows. Firstly, don’t waste any electricity andwater. Remember to turn off the lights and water taps unless we use them.Secondly, we had better take the subways or bus to work, so as to reduce theemissions of carbon dioxide. Thirdly, we should use cloth bags for shoppinginstead of plastic bags, and use recyclable bowls and chopsticks instead ofdisposable ones, for it can not only save resources, but also reduce pollution.What’s more, it is of great significance to plant more trees, since trees canbalance the carbon dioxide emissions.

I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’vealways liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it tobe. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reapa good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. Toanswer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youthis not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman,the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England.In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’stooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. Heoften visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there,which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted oneto keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had toleave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one ofthe teeth from the dragon’s mouth.
