Ice house冰 屋
Look at this house(看这房子)， 这是生活在北极地区的爱斯基摩人的冰屋。They live in ice houses only in winter (他们只在冬天住冰屋)。 用冰修建的房子不是更冷吗？Actually (事实上), no. There"s no window. Cold wind can"t come in. 因为没有窗，冷风就不会进来。Warm air can"t go out(热空气也不会出去)。How do people build an ice house（人们怎么造冰屋呢）? First, they make bricks with ice（他们先是做冰砖）。Then they build the house with ice bricks and water(然后用冰砖和水来砌房)。水很快凝固，使冰砖紧密结合在一起。The house is strong, but people can"t cook in the ice house(虽然冰屋很结实，但人们却不能在里面烧菜)。Why? 在冰屋里生火做饭，温度会升高，The house will melt(房子是会融化的哦)。

看着眼熟吧？没错，有一次小魔女就带着小怪猫到秘鲁水上的屋子里做过客。There are a lot of lakes, so people build their houses on the water(因为有许多的湖泊，所以人们就都把房子建在了水上)。这样不仅方便捕鱼，还方便往来。他们的交通工具就是船。Yes. People buy and sell things on boats. Kids go to school and come home by boats, too(人们买卖都在船上，孩子上下学也用船)。
House in a rainforest雨林茅屋
热带雨林的房子不是直接建在地上，而是用木桩撑起来的。In a rainforest(雨林), it rains a lot. 不仅湿气重，而且容易积水。Some animals such as snakes and boars(野猪)are dangerous(危险的)to people. They might attack（袭击)people sleeping at night. 让房子架空高出地面，防止野兽半夜闯进房屋。
